I was rarely able to visit and talk to Joel due to the distance between us, him being in Virginia and myself in Michigan. I do remember from the few times we were together how helpful and selfless he was. We were in Pennsylvania a few years ago and I had cut my toe on a rock. He didn’t leave my side the entire time I had I treated him and was quick to ask if it was ok throughout the rest of the trip if he noticed anything. I was more recently able to go bowling with him in December. He was quick to help with anything that came up, whether it was helping the girls or a technical issue. One of my biggest regrets is not seeing him more, and I have learned to cherish every moment. I will always miss you, Joel and I will never forget you.
